Again another good crowd following Slades massive success at the Reading festival (August 1980), their current single EP was actually from that concert "Slade Alive At Reading '80"
which got to number 44 in the U.K. chart.
The crowd are chanting "come on Noddy, come on Noddy, come on Noddy" and on he and his band come, blasting the place with their fantastic "Dizzy Mama" followed by greats such as "Night Starvation"
"Take Me Bak 'ome", "Wheels Ain't Coming Down" to name a few.
The pace slows down as they perform "Everyday", then it's back to full volume with hits such as
"When I'm Dancin' I Ain't Fightin'", "Gudbuy T'Jane", "Get Down And Get With It"
"Cum On Feel The Noize" and ending the show with Steppenwolfs "Born To Be Wild".
I think Slade were a different band compared to last years concerts
(all due to the above mentioned festival), they are full of new adrenalin and energy and confidence.
As normal Noddy interacts with his fans encouraging them to make some noise
and frequently jokes about with them.
Weston Super Mare are not let down having been thoroughly entertained
and leave happy but deafened again, and Slade carry on enjoying their refound stardom.
My sound rating for this is 7/10
